Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.
– Isaiah 54:2
It can be easy in our city like ours to have the capacity to hope and dream leach out of you under the pressure of time and circumstance.
Disappointment is a sobering experience that can cause our faith and imagination to contract as we draw in our protective mechanisms in the hope of defending our hearts from the acid of life.
In truth, once our heart and mind and spirit are contracted the damage is already done. Worse still, we have dismantled the healing process of growth and the incremental victories of faith.
But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls – Hebrews 10:39
The greatest challenge that lays before a compressed heart is not in the doing, it is in the dreaming and the believing, that sets it in motion. It is in the ability to find the want to stretch out our tent further. To fend off the attacks of the devil that would see us bound and small.
It’s time to stretch church, to expand, to believe for better days and greater things. It’s time to shake off the shackles of yesterday and whatever did and didn’t happen. No matter where we find ourselves the capacity to stretch out and up is in us!
Let’s pray together today church for faith and dreams that draw us outward. For inspiration and the faith to believe it. For the ability to let the past be past and the future be unlimited!
Do Not Hold Back!
Look forward to seing you tonight at 55 North Moore as we pray together to see God’s Kingdom come.
