Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
– Hebrews 11:1
Faith is a substance.
It brings form and function to those things that God has delivered into our heart to believe for.
It is rooted in a comprehension that in general our human understanding runs counter to the working of God; In God’s leadership paradigm the last are first. In Gods economy those that give are the ones that receive. In Gods wisdom it is those things that appear foolish that are in fact wise.
And here again God upends the way that we would reconcile things in our human mind. For we would see faith as an intangible nothing reaching out in an attempt to disrupt a certain physical something. But the heavenly laws set in place at the beginning of time would see us recognize that our faith is borne with more substance than any “reality” that is set before us. It carries more weight, it precedes and supersedes those natural laws set in place at the beginning of this world.
It is above your circumstance, it is above what your eyes can see or your mind truly comprehend. It is a substance, and it is at work in the hopes and confidence that God has placed in you.
Today church as we enter the last day of our fast let’s let our faith rise as we pray. Let’s let it fill our bodies and settle over our circumstance. Let’s let the substance of faith move the mountains in our world.
We’ve been having an incredible time in corporate prayer over the last couple of nights. I’d encourage you to come tonight and pray with us. The strength and power of unified prayer is amazing!
Look forward to seeing you tonight!
